Racine – Kongpheng Sisouvong, age 72, passed away peacefully in Murfreesboro, TN on Monday, October 7, 2013.

She was born in Nong Khai, Thailand on March 1, 1941 – moving to the United States on May 19, 1979. With a deep passion for all her family, she spent an equal amount of time with her loved ones in Wisconsin, Tennessee and South Carolina throughout the years. Among her interests, she loved cooking for her family and had great enthusiasm for fishing.

Surviving are her children, Bounmy Sisouvong, Khamdeng Sisouvong, Seng Pham and Alynna Sisouvong; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; other special relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phang Sisouvong; and grandson, Andy Sisouvong.

Funeral services with rites and rituals of the Buddhist faith will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at 1 pm.

My deepest sympathies and condolences to the many family members who are dealing with the loss of this great family matriarch. From the stories I’ve heard, she suffered through so much to bring her family to America so they could have an opportunity for success and to live the American dream. For all she did in life, she will still be there to act as our guardian in death, along with all of the other family ancestors who preceded her. So let us not be sad, but celebrate her life and be happy in the knowledge that she no longer suffers and is finally at rest.

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

Mike and the staff went above and beyond during our very difficult time with passing of our Opa. Mike helped relieve the immense stress by being extremely professional, paying attention to the smallest details and the overall kindness and compassion in caring for our family at our time of need. We do not believe that a thank you truly covers our deep gratitude towards you. Thank you for everything you have done for us.
