Kyle Lee Roders, 35—lifelong adventurer, fierce protector, and the spark of every gathering—passed away unexpectedly on December 11, 2025, after a recent diagnosis with a blood disorder. To meet Kyle was to feel seen, cared for, and lifted by his boundless heart and sense of fun. Though his time was heartbreakingly brief, his light will endure.

Born in Kenosha, WI, on April 5, 1990, Kyle was the youngest son of Bruce and Mary (Althaus) Roders. He completed grade school and middle school at St. Mary Catholic School and St. Joseph Catholic School, respectively, and graduated from Tremper High School. He earned a degree in marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. Sometimes called "Peter Pan" for his reluctance to fully grow up, Kyle ran toward life with open arms. From a young age, he adored musicals, unapologetically singing along to their soundtracks and attending every production he could. He loved to play and watch basketball and was especially proud to coach the Westosha Central High School women's JV team in 2015.

While working as a summer camp counselor at the Pleasant Prairie Rec Plex, Kyle met Jennifer (Jenny) Peterson, his fellow counselor, and fell in love. From day one, Jenny was Kyle's dream and his world—a fact he shared early, often, and without hesitation. In the spring of 2016, the couple moved to Florida to participate in the Disney College Program, where they worked and played together at the Orlando parks. On April 16, 2021, Kyle and Jenny married on a Florida beach, a reflection of their shared love for adventure. Soon after, work brought them to Mauldin, SC, where they bought their first home. True kindred spirits, Kyle and Jenny were always in motion—seeking new places and experiences, from theme parks and breweries to trips shared with family and friends. Together, they planned to travel the world.

Kyle leaves a legacy in his adored wife and partner, Jenny (Peterson), and their two beloved Golden Retrievers—his kids—Simba and Nala. He will be missed forever by his family: his father, Bruce; his father- and mother-in-law, John and Ellen Peterson; his brother, Adam (Emily); his sister, Dana (Brad Kostreva); his brother-in-law, Kyle (Susannah); his nieces—his princesses—the other true loves of his life: Ava and Aubrey Roders and Olivia and Maddie Peterson; and his aunts, uncles, and cousins. Kyle was preceded in death by his mother, Mary; his grandparents, Robert and Mary Althaus and Vincent and Shirley Roders; and his grandparents-in-law, Donna and Bernie Becwar.

A visitation will take place on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 4:00 pm–7:00 pm at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home, with funeral services to follow at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances would be appreciated.
