
Lamar Hargrove, 52, passed away unexpectedly, in Kindred Kenosha South, on Saturday, January 4, 2014. He was born in Columbus, MS, on July 22, 1961, the son of Sam and the late Allie (nee: Blair) Hargrove.
After graduating from High School, Lamar served his country with the U.S. Army. He went onto further his education and obtained his degree from Gateway Technical College. Shortly thereafter, he began employment with UNICO Corporation as a computer engineer. Lamar later owned and operated his own auto repair shop. He was a member of Zoe Ministries, and a moving force in several AA circles here in Racine, serving as a sponsor and mentor to many. He loved being with his family, motorcycle riding, golfing, fishing, and boating.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Lamar Blair Hargrove; father, Sam Hargrove; brothers, Sam (Rita) Hargrove, all of Racine, Aaron (Cindy Barth) Hargrove, of Waukegan, Eddie (LaTasha) Hargrove, of Oshkosh, Charles (Judy) Hargrove, of Milwaukee, Bennie (Carol) Hargrove, of Atlanta, GA; sister-in-law, Melody Hargrove, of Racine; God-children, LeRoy “Ace” Hargrove, Candice Hargrove, and Jimmie “Little Jimmie” Carter Jr.; lifetime, best friend, Jimmie Carter Sr. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and his extended AA family also survive him. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lula “Trudy” Blair, and brother, LeRoy Hargrove.
His Homegoing Service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, January 8th, at 7:00 p.m. with, his cousin, Rev. Melvin Hargrove officiating. Relatives and friends can meet with the family, in the funeral home, on Wednesday, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
