Obituary

Racine – Laura Jean (nee: Prudhomme) Bolter-Brock, age 83, passed away peacefully at Parkview Gardens early Thursday morning, June 12, 2025 following a courageous 5-year journey with dementia.

Laura was born in Crookston, Minnesota on February 24, 1942 to the late Leonard and Aldea (nee: Reginbald) Prudhomme. After graduation from high school, Laura spent 3 years in the convent to serve our Lord as a nun. When she decided to pursue something else in life, she moved to South Milwaukee. It was there that she met a young man, who became the love of her life, by the name of Wayne Bolter. In March of 1965, they were united in marriage. Wayne, who spent 4 years in the Navy and 25 years in the National Guard, passed away of cancer at the young age of 59 on September 30, 2001.

With a profound work ethic, Laura was employed as the business manager of Racine Medical Clinic, Wheaton Franciscan, Covenant & All Saints until she retired. For many years, she attended St. Lucy Catholic Church. Her entire life revolved purely around her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were her everything!

Surviving are her loving daughters, Renee Stommel and Wendy (Wes) Nault; adored  grandchildren, William (Nicole) Stommel, Matt (Heather) Stommel, Lauren (Paul) Boggs and Alec Nault; cherished great-grandchildren, Jada & Madeline Stommel, Lucas & Liam Stommel, Chase & Wyatt Boggs, and Giana Briatta; sisters, Marion (Paul) Schultz, Carolyn Prudhomme, Margaret (Jim) Walz and Cecile (Bill) Marciniak; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents & husband, Laura was preceded in death by her beautiful daughter, Dawn Bolter, who passed away of cancer at the tender age of 3; dear son-in-law, Bill Stommel; and brother, Edwin Prudhomme.
