Racine – Laurie Ann Monti, 49, passed away at All Saints Hospital on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 following a long and courageous fight with cancer. She was born in Rockford, Illinois on November 20, 1959, the daughter of Crowder and Wava "Darlene" (nee: Burt) Saddler. She has been a Racine area resident since 1982. Laurie was employed at Toys-R-Us as a customer service representative for over 17 years. She was in love with her job because of the people she worked with, and the excitement that Christmas brought. She loved Christmas and all of the holidays because it gave her the chance to cook and prepare great dinners for big family gatherings. She also enjoyed the quiet nights at home with family, watching TV, or working in the yard She is survived by her loving family, including her husband, Michael Monti; her children, Arthur (fiancée – Stephanie Crocker) Lebo, Angela (fiancé – Abel Contreras) Lebo both of Racine, Tiffany (Courtney) Baker of Clarksville, Tennessee, Ashely Monti, Michael Monti, Jr., and Henry Monti all of Racine; grandchildren, Marilyn and Cassandra Monroy, Kaden Lebo, Adam, Abel III, Anthony, Adrian, and Melissa Contreras all of Racine; father and step-mother, Crowder and Reva Saddler; sister and brothers, Bonnie (Ron) Voller and Steve (Diane) Saddler both of Illinois, and Ron (Tracy) Saddler of Tennessee. She is further survived by her mother-in-law, Anne Monti of Florida; and brother-in-law, Dean Monti of Racine; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Darlene McCort; and her sister, Connie Elliott. Her funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1100 Erie Street, at 12 noon on Wednesday, March 18, 2009. Burial will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5 – 7 p.m., and Wednesday in the church beginning at 11 a.m. Memorials to the American Cancer Society have been suggested.
