It is with both heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of LaVetta Honor, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, who departed this world on October 11, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on April 8, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois, LaVetta’s journey led her to Racine, Wisconsin, where she created a home filled with love and laughter.
A dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant, LaVetta devoted her life to caring for others, touching countless lives with her compassion and warmth. She exemplified the spirit of humanity, always ready with a smile and a kind word, ensuring that no one was ever a stranger.
LaVetta had a zest for life that was contagious. She reveled in the thrill of occasionally trying her luck at casinos, and her adventurous spirit found joy in shopping for treasures both big and small. Much of her greatest pleasure, however, came from the simple moments spent over coffee with her family, where laughter filled the air and stories were shared. LaVetta was also a doting grandmother, whose heart overflowed with love for her grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and happiness.
She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband, Daniel Honor; her cherished children, daughters: Rashaun, Tylandra LaToya (Brandon), Clarissa, and son, Clarence;Â five step-children; grandchildren: Renee, Carlise, Donyae, Jarquis, Xavier, Nevaeh, Zaire, Adriauna, Christian, Caitlin, Ayden, Naji, and Camille; eight great-grandchildren; siblings: Larry Crawford, Beverly Crawford, Clark Crawford, and Rae (Phillip) White. Numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family also survive her.
LaVetta was preceded in death by her mother, Johnnie Crawford; sister Tyrice Ellis; special brother-in-law, Eugene “Bell” Hoskins; infant twin sons, Aaron and Joseph Price; and infant grandson, Jehari Simpson.
