LaVonna M. Berard, passed away on January 3, 2018, at Ridgewood Care Center at the age of 96.

Born in Charles City, Iowa on March 4, 1921.  She was united in marriage to Clifford C. Berard on March 6, 1943.  Clifford preceded her in death on August 13, 1985.

She was a long-time resident of Racine, graduating from St. Luke's School of Nursing in 1942.  She was a faithful member of St. Rita's Catholic Church.

LaVonna will be sadly missed by her children; Pamela (Robert) Gibson, Kim (Janet) Berard, her grandchildren; Anne Gibson, Jennifer (Christopher) Lingard, David (Barbara) Berard, and her great-grandchildren; Corbin Lingard, Josie Lingard, Ruby Jean Berard and Spencer Lingard, and her much loved nieces and nephews.  We wish to also acknowledge and thank her special long-time friend and St. Luke's School of Nursing classmate, Margaret (Muggs) Seeter.

In addition to her parents, she was more recently preceded in death by her brothers, Delbert Cottier of South Milwaukee and Ronald Cottier of Franklin.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 11, 2018, 11:00am, at St. Rita's Catholic Church, 4339 Douglas Avenue.  Visitation will be from 10:00am until the time of the service.  Private interment for family will take place at Calvary Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in her honor are suggested to St. Rita's Catholic Church.
