Lawrence E. Derks, 57, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 3, 2015. Larry was born in Racine on June 9, 1957 to the late Anna Marie and Jerome Derks. He attended Gateway Technical College, graduating with an Associate of Applied Science in Electrical Technology in 1981. In 2010, Larry retired from the Chrysler Corporation. He was a member of the United Lodge #66 of the Machinists' Union. During his lifetime, he was an avid musician and hobby artist. Larry enjoyed the days spent outside with his family, playing tennis and watching the birds in the garden. Larry will be remembered as a beloved husband and friend to his wife, Bonnie Derks; devoted father of Jackelee (John Paulson) Derks, Anna (Steven) Schwak, and Bonniejean (Brad) Mikulice; and proud grandfather to Jozie. He is further survived by his siblings, Russell Derks, Jerome Derks, Pauline (John) Gumbinger, and James (Tammy) Derks.  Honoring Larry's wish, a private service was held for his family.
