KENOSHA – Mr. Lawrence A. Kexel Jr., 80, passed away at Lake Haven Memory Care in Kenosha on Wednesday, October 7, 2026
Larry was born in Kenosha on September 15, 1946, a son of the late Lawrence A. and Leona M. (nee; Raymond) Kexel Sr. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1965.
He served his country with the US Army during the Vietnam War while stationed in Germany from 1968-1970.
Larry married Kim E. Brokaw at St. Anthony Catholic Church on October 25, 1975.
He worked at AMC/Chrysler for 42 years as a quality control engineer, as well as Model Market for years.
Larry restored his cherished 1970 AMX, and enjoyed traveling, especially his 3 trips to Europe, going to casinos, concerts, shooting pool, golfing, and being a member of the Lakeside Players.
He is survived by his wife Kim; his daughter, Liz (Mark) Cole; his sisters, Elaine (Paul) Cox and Kathlyn (Jerry) Parsneau; his step grandson, Logan Cole; as well as nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his three brothers, Robert, David, and Daniel Kexel.
In accordance with Larry’s wishes, a private service and interment with Military Honors took place at All Saints Cemetery in Pleasant Prairie. Memorials have been suggested to Hospice Alliance.
The Kexel family extends a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at Lake Haven and Hospice Alliance for the loving and compassionate attention Larry received while under their care.
