Obituary

Racine – Lena Mae (nee: Ivy) Echoles, 59, received the promise of eternal life on Monday, November 25, 2013.  She was born in Taylor, MS, on January 28, 1954, daughter of the late Henry and Marene (nee: Mosley) Ivy.

Lena spent most of childhood in Taylor, MS.  She accepted Christ at an early age and was united with Mt. Hopewell MBC.  Lena graduated from Lafayette High School in Taylor, MS.

Lena was married to the love of her life, Artis Echoles Sr. They shared a beautiful life for over 37 years.  Together their life was blessed with many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lena was a dedicated wife and mother. She was a fulltime Homemaker and she enjoyed taking care of her family home and raising her children and cooking.  Lena adored her family, she loved spending time with them and her close friends, but more than anything she loved honoring and praising God. She was loved dearly and will be missed.

Lena leaves to cherish her memory, her husband; Artis Echoles Sr., children; Thomas, Artisa, Tralon(Shaneka), Dontae, Lekeena, Jaquay, stepchildren; Artis(Michelle), Sandra(Al), Daniel(Angela), Elaine(Willie), Delon, Linda Jean, Elizabeth(Ricky) and MyKeisha, fifty grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, brothers; John(Brenda), Hugh(Darlene), Alex(Geniece), Jessie, Eddie, Bobby(Dorthy), sister; Lula, sister-in-laws; Grace, Mary(Ace), Rene; brother-in-law; Jimmy, special friends; Sandra and Zandra, Godson; Antoine Brown and a host of nieces, nehews, other loving relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

In addition to her parents, Lena is preceded in death by her siblings, Jackie, Henry Jr., Shirley, Eddie C and Mary.

A celebration of Lena's life will be held on Monday, December 2, 2013, 11am, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory.  Visitation will be from 10am until the time of the service.  Interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery.
