~~ Linda Marie Gray, 54, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 9, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was born in Racine on March 16, 1960, the daughter of the late William and Sylvia (nee: Monfeli) Hansen. Linda was a teacher's assistant for Racine Unified School District, working at Jerstad-Agerholm, James Giese, and Gilbert Knapp schools. She was an artist, writer, and avid reader. Linda loved working with her students. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory; her loving companion, of nearly 40 years, James Polk; children, Vada Evans, Jamie Gray, Damien Gray, Kelsey (Stephen) Harris, all of Racine; grandchildren, Savannah Pietsch, Amore and Harlem Harris, all of Racine; sister, Mary Jane (Bob) Marks, of Pewaukee; and brother, Mark Hansen, of Milwaukee. Her nieces, nephews, other relatives, students, and friends also survive her. The family will be conducting a memorial service at the Living Light Community Center, 740 College Ave., on Saturday, November 15th at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to the family to establish a tribute honoring her life at a later date.
