Racine– Linda Kae Rubin, age 69, passed away peacefully at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center on Sunday, December 16, 2012 following a courageous struggle with multiple health complications since September.

Linda was born in Alliance, Ohio on August 26, 1943 to the late John B. and Glenda M. (nee: Stanley) Yothers. Extremely intelligent and born with the drive for perfection, she graduated near the top of her class from West Branch High School (Beloit ,Ohio) in 1961. She was recognized as a member of the National Honor Society. She went on to attend Kent State University and University of Wisconsin-Parkside from where she attained a degree in English and received her teacher certification.

On June 29, 1974 at the rose garden of Wustum Museum, she was united in marriage with the love of her life, Kenneth S. Rubin.  Linda and Ken met on a blind date which blossomed into a lifetime commitment to each other. As an educator, Linda was employed as a teacher at Giese School and later the administrator of Racine Montessori School.  She founded the Lakefront Artist Fair which served to support the financial needs of RMS. Years later, she proudly became Vice-President / Secretary and office manager of the State Farm Insurance – Ken Rubin Agency.

With a profound Christian faith, Linda was a devoted member of Faith Community Church where she was actively involved in women's Bible study – specializing in prophecy. She was also actively involved in Bible Study Fellowship as a leader. Linda had a great appreciation for rose gardening, geology, and was a sensational cook.   She enjoyed attending Brewers and Badger football games with Ken. Traveling throughout the US, including trips to Hawaii and a birthday cruise to Alaska,  gave her great pleasure. Music, theater, entertaining, love of nature and all of God's creation spoke of the incredible diversity of her life's interests. Linda also had a special relationship with Jackson, their six-year old Golden Retriever, that she claimed was velcroed to her side. Above all, she dedicated her life to extending unconditional love to her family.

Surviving are her loving husband of nearly 39 years, Ken; children, Lori J. (Randy) Peterson, Heidi L. (Ron) Ottow, Bryan M. (Ann) Rubin and Geoffrey A. Rubin; grandchildren, Steven (Jackie) Blaesing, Eric (Erin) Blaesing, Gwendolyn (Jason) Nesbit, Adam Griffin, Ashley Williams, James T. (Amber) McEneany Jr., Matthew R. McEneany and Hannah Virginia Rose McEneany; great-grandchildren, Noah, Madison and Ava  Blaesing; Lewis Tadva; William and Alex Nesbit; sisters, Diane R. Baldwin, Kathy King and Jill Yothers; brother, Stanley K. (Sue) Yothers; sisters-in-law, Maxine Booth and Linda M. (Michael) Sader; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by Ken's parents, Robert F. and Adele Rubin.

Funeral services will be held in Faith Community Church, 215 Newman Road, on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 9:30 am with Rev. Dino Galati officiating. Interment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park. A luncheon will follow. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 5-8 pm and in the church on Saturday from 8:30-9:30 am. In memory of Linda, memorials to the American Cancer Society (Breast Cancer), Faith Community Church (Life Center) or the charity of one's choice have been suggested.

A special note of thanks to the incredible staff of Wheaton Franciscan All Saints – especially Dr. Tim LeSage and the ICU  for their extraordinary care and loving concern for Linda and her family. They were heroic in their professionalism and dedication doing everything in their powers in trying to save Linda's life. May God bless all of you!
