Obituary

RACINE – Lois J. (nee: Lovett) Ragges-Bledsoe, 83, passed away at her residence on Sunday, April 14, 2019.

Lois J. (nee: Lovett) Ragges-Bledsoe was born on January 18, 1936 to the late Luke and Rosie (nee: Cooks) Lovett in Eudora, Arkansas. She was born the baby girl of three children, her siblings, Willie Mae Walker, Robert B. Cooks, both preceded her in death. Lois received her formal education in McGehee, Arkansas.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Lois married Melvin Ragges Sr. in 1968.  She was an advocate of community help throughout her life living in various states. She enjoyed traveling, taking care of those less fortunate. Lois also enjoyed singing, playing cards, gospel programs, and church. She loved her family immensely Lois spoke her mind openly, she enjoyed her crafts, cooking and if you were hungry, she had you by any means necessary.

She dedicated her life to the Lord at an early age and reaffirmed it last year in August. She attended Kingdom Builders in Racine, WI where she was on the Mother's board faithfully and served well. Lois never allowed grass to grow under her feet traveling coast to coast often. Lois has a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends all over the country

She will be missed by her children, Robert L. (Zodie) Brown Jr., Shirley J. Powers, Lisa A. Nelson, Melvin Ragges Jr., Lynol W. Ragges; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; daughter in law, Blanch Lumpkins and her sister in law, Charity Cooks. She was preceded in death by three sons, Russell D. Lumpkins Sr., Clarence Lovett and Marvin Ragges.

Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home Saturday, April  27, 2019  at 11:00 a.m. for the Celebration of her life and Homegoing with Pastor Leon Brown officiating .  There will be a visitation in the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00.
