Racine – Lois Yvonne Howze, 73, passed away at Froedtert Medical Center on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. She was born in Quitman, Mississippi on October 29, 1943. She had been a Racine resident for most of her life, and retired from Webster Electric/Danfoss in early 2000's.

Lois was a loving mother who enjoyed baking and cooking special Sunday dinners for her family. With her affectionate and infectious personality, she was also a mother-figure to many children in the neighborhood along 13th street. Her faith was equally important to her. She loved to sing in church, and as an evangelist she spread the word of God whenever she could.

Lois is survived by her children: Diana Giese of Racine, Lamonda Howze of Tampa, Florida, Tracy L. Howze of Muncie, Indiana, and Marcus (Beth) West of Racine; grandchildren: Andrew Giese, Dana Giese, Amber Harris, Tyisha (Quincy) Dawkins, Keyanna Mayfield, Damien (Janiqua) Winston, Morgan Howze, Sirita Reams, Tracie Howze, Jamon Howze, Demetrius Howze, Maaliyah West, and Justin Robbins; 14 great-grandchildren; 6 sisters and 3 brothers; other relatives and friends, including Ernestine Smith, Deloris Bell, Sue Neil, Nettie Mahoney, Kimberly Gore, and Margaret Bolton. She was preceded in death by her father, Leon Riley; her mother, Beatrice (nee: Brown) Crain; 1 brother and 1 grandchild.

Homegoing services will be held in St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 with Apostle James Mann presiding. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park immediately following the service. Memorials to the Froedtert Hospital Foundation (for Cardiac Care) have been suggested.
