Racine – Loren E. Ledger, 76, passed away at St. Mary's Medical Center on Saturday, October 14, 2006. He was born in Racine on August 30, 1930, son of the late Frank and Mabel (nee: Fisher) Ledger and served in the Naval Reserve from 1951 to 1955. Loren was united in marriage to Kathleen C. Sohr on September 12, 1953 at Holy Communion Church. Kathleen preceded him in death on February 12, 2001. On April 13, 2002 he married Rosemary Galovits Otwaska.

Loren was a man of generous character, and will be remembered for always being there to help others. His family and children were most important to him, and he strove to be a positive role model to them, demonstrating honesty, respect, diplomacy, and understanding. Loren enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was simply a walk along the lake front, feeding the birds in his back yard, or his favorite pastime, boating and water-skiing. He retired from Precise Products in 2001, attended First Evangelical Free Church with his wife Rosemary, and accepted Christ as his personal savior on September 11, 2006.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary; children, Linda Obermeit of Pasadena, California, Gary (Belen) Ledger of San Dimas, California, Lori Ledger of Racine; grandchildren, Tiffani Hamilton of Racine, Heidi, Lisa, Tamara, and Brandon Obermeit all of Pasadena; sister Doris (Leroy) DeRosier of Racine; nieces Karen Tuinstra and Melissa Sohr; nephews David DeRosier, Mark, Michael, and Matthew Sohr, mother-in-law Sylvia Sohr of Racine; brother-in-law Gordon Sohr, Jr. of Florida; very close family by marriage to Rosemary: children Lynn (Larry) Banovez of Kenosha, and Randy (Karen) Otwaska of Racine; grandchildren Tiara Agresta of Chicago, Bryatt Banovez of Kenosha, Breanna Otwaska of Racine, great granddaughter Calista Banovez; other relatives and friends. He was also preceded by his father-in-law Gordon Sohr, Sr.

Memorial services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2006 with Rev. John Bodnar officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Memorials to First Evangelical Free Church, or your favorite charity have been suggested. The children will appreciate your entering comments about their father in the guest book if you are unable to attend.
