Sturtevant – Loretta Rose Studey, age 63, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loved ones, on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 following a valiant battle with Multiple Sclerosis, Guillain-Barre Disease and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

Loretta was born in Racine on July 4, 1952. She graduated from William Horlick High School and Gateway Technical College. On May 14, 1988, she was united in marriage with the love of her life, John Studey. Loretta was employed as a phlebotomist at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown, KY – retiring in 2010.

Loretta was a member of North Cape Lutheran Church and the First Friday Quilters Guild. She was a master quilter who taught others the art of quilting.

Surviving are her husband, John; daughter, Jennifer Ard; step-children, John L. (Cathy) Studey, Marcy (Joseph) Axtell, Ryan Studey, Laura (Jacob) Hoffmann and Lynda Studey; 17 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; other dear relatives and friends – too numerous to mention by name.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lee; mother, Helen Krack; step-father, Charles Krack; sister, Linda Stewart and by her infant brother.

Funeral services will be in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday from 12:00 – 2:00 pm. Memorials may be made to North Cape Lutheran Church.
