Her funeral service will take place at 11:00 am.

Her interment will follow in the mausoleum at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

In Loving memory of Lorraine Hutchins, 73 years of age, who passed away Saturday June 7, 2025, after her strong fight with pancreatic cancer.

She was born on July 9, 1951, in Saint Louis, Missouri, the daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Nee Miller) Jones.  She was united in marriage to her first husband, Jerry Watkins, and together they bore five children. Lorraine met the love of her life, Carl Hutchins in 1977, and they wed in September of 1985.

Mama Lo, sometimes referred to as Gramma, grew up in East Saint Louis where she attended night school to complete her high school studies.  Later, in 1977 she relocated with her children as a single mother to Zion, Illinois where she was employed as a caregiver.  Mrs. Lorraine then moved to Kenosha, Wisconsin and maintained employment at the Veterans Hospital for five years, which is where she retired.  Ten years later, Mrs. Lorraine and her husband came out of retirement to become the owner of Lo’s Fish and Chips where she enjoyed cooking for multitudes of people.

Lorraine and her husband Carl became devout Witnesses of Jehovah and shared the message of God’s Kingdom with others.  They attended the Kingdom Hall regularly located on Green Bay Road in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Mama Lo’s greatest love was cooking Sunday Family Dinners while listening to music, especially the Down-Home Blues. Lorraine loved spending quality time with her family as well as others whom she adopted and accepted as family.  She also loved shopping, cooking pancakes, and drinking coffee with her grandsons.

Mama Lo was the strongest wife, mom, sister, aunt, and grandmother and was the happiest being in the comfort of her family.  She was extremely kind and loving to all that came to know her.  She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her loving husband, Carl Hutchins; her children, Jerry (Simone) Jones, Carmelita Gordon, Christopher (Heather) Watkins, Chevette Crockrom, Jermaine (Victoria) Watkins, extended daughters, Tracy Oliver,  Brandy Watkins, and sons-in-law Melvin Gordon Jr. and Warren Crockrom; her stepchildren, Reginald Hutchins, Natasha Hutchins, Aundrae (Brandi) Hutchins; her grandchildren, Deandre, Chris, Tremaine, Paris, Daryl,  Tiberius, Derese,  Chauniece, Joseph, Tayshon, Norjaie, Shaquille, Warren, Makayla , Jerry, Azalia, Jo’van, Micah,  Melvin,  Jermaine, April, Willow, Logan, Danyell, Haywood, Robbie, Dominic, Elijah, Jeremiah, Aundraea; numerous great grandchildren; her brothers and sisters; James Jones, Marvin (Beverly) Jones, Lorenzo Jones, Wanda Jones, and very close and dear in-laws, Robert Sherrod, Marie Corey, and Evelyn Jones; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by her brother, Louis Jones; sisters, Marcella Sherrod, Deborah Moore, Armanda Jones and Maxine Anderson; grandchildren, Collin, Brenda, Carrie Watkins, Michael Watkins; great granddaughter, Arielle Longstreet, and great grandson, London Arellano.

Family and Friends are invited to meet in the Draeger- Langendorf Funeral Home on Wednesday,  June 18, 2025, for a visitation from 10am to 11am.  Her funeral service will take place at 11:00 am. Her interment will follow in the mausoleum at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

We would like to thank our many friends and family for all their love and support. We would also like to extend our love and gratitude to Dr. Gregg Rocco and nurse Kelly at Aurora Hospital, Aurora Hospice Care, nurse Taryn, and nursing assistant Shelby, the Cancer Care Staff under Dr. Nuwanz in Kenosha Wisconsin.

Lorraine was indeed a special person. Back in the day when we went to her and Carl’s home, she’d be in the kitchen cooking and playing her music with that loving smile on her face, she kept me laughing I have nothing but good memories of her. Even when my daughter and i went to see her, as she laid in the bed she reached her hand out for a hug and it was a tight hug and yes we left with candy….lol lots of it, she love giving to others. Lorraine is now resting. ( John 5:28,29)
My deepest sympathy and empathy for the family🤎
    Much love,
