MOUNT PLEASANT – Mrs. Lorraine Mary Stachow, 98, passed away at Pleasant Point on February 18, 2024.

She was born in Racine on June 19, 1925, the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (nee Oteman) Bednar.  Lorraine married Felix Stachow on February 2, 1946.  He preceded her in death on August 21, 2015.

She worked in the kitchens for SC Johnson and Hansche Elementary Schools.  Lorraine was a devout Catholic and was a longtime member of St. Richard (Holy Name) Parish.  She later joined St. Paul the Apostle after moving closer to the church.

Lorraine was an avid card player and seamstress.  However, she was happiest in the company of her family, especially cooking and baking for everyone.

She is survived by her daughter and son, Susan (James) Luxem and Daniel (Linda) Stachow; her eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Patricia Bednar, Margaret Bednar, and Mary Lou Baker; her best friend, Mary Ericson; as well as many dear nieces, nephews and other relatives.  In addition to her parents and husband, Lorraine was preceded in death by her sons, Thomas, and Alan Stachow; her great grandson, Ryan Luxem; her brothers, Norman, Roger, Frank and Richard Bednar; and her sisters-in-law, Bernice Stachow and Stella Supiano.

The Stachow family wishes to thank Regina and Rick from Hospice Alliance, John for bringing communion every Saturday, as well as the entire staff at Pleasant Point for the loving and professional attention Lorraine received while under their care.

Testimonials

Sincere Gratitude

I can’t express my gratitude enough to Mike and the Draeger-Langendorf staff for such great service provided to us, as we made arrangements to lay our brother to rest. You all went above and beyond to make sure we understood every detail there was to know, from the greatest to the smallest. When we walked out of your office, we walked out with peace, knowing that our brother was in good hands. Thank you Mike for adding that special touch to my brother’s service, that’s the kind of stuff that separates you all from the rest. Once again Thank you so much.
