Lorraine M.
Stachow
Jun 19, 1925 — Feb 18, 2024
MOUNT PLEASANT – Mrs. Lorraine Mary Stachow, 98, passed away at Pleasant Point on February 18, 2024.
She was born in Racine on June 19, 1925, the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (nee Oteman) Bednar. Lorraine married Felix Stachow on February 2, 1946. He preceded her in death on August 21, 2015.
She worked in the kitchens for SC Johnson and Hansche Elementary Schools. Lorraine was a devout Catholic and was a longtime member of St. Richard (Holy Name) Parish. She later joined St. Paul the Apostle after moving closer to the church.
Lorraine was an avid card player and seamstress. However, she was happiest in the company of her family, especially cooking and baking for everyone.
She is survived by her daughter and son, Susan (James) Luxem and Daniel (Linda) Stachow; her eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Patricia Bednar, Margaret Bednar, and Mary Lou Baker; her best friend, Mary Ericson; as well as many dear nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to her parents and husband, Lorraine was preceded in death by her sons, Thomas, and Alan Stachow; her great grandson, Ryan Luxem; her brothers, Norman, Roger, Frank and Richard Bednar; and her sisters-in-law, Bernice Stachow and Stella Supiano.
Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church (6400 Spring Street) on Saturday, February 24, 2024, for a visitation from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. The celebration of her life and Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am with Rev. Yamid Blanco officiating. A private interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorials have been suggested to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
The Stachow family wishes to thank Regina and Rick from Hospice Alliance, John for bringing communion every Saturday, as well as the entire staff at Pleasant Point for the loving and professional attention Lorraine received while under their care.
