Racine – Louise Theresa (nee: Schultz) Rahn, age 103; passed away peacefully at her home – Bay Pointe Assisted Living on Friday evening, June 17, 2016.

Louise was born in Mauston, Wisconsin on July 28, 1912 to the late Charles and Louise (nee: Pfaff) Schultz. She was united in marriage with John William Rahn on April 6, 1946. He preceded her in death on May 31, 2002.

As one of eleven children, she was a great help to her parents and her siblings on the family farm near Mauston, WI.   She liked to talk about her years on the farm and living through the "Great Depression".

When Louise left the farm, she worked in the Mauston area as a home helper for an elderly aunt, a clerk in a department store, and as a waitress.  During WWII she came to Racine with two girlfriends to find work.  She was employed at Massey Ferguson in the packing division until the end of the war. She met her future husband, John Rahn, at Massey.  John and Louise resided in Racine their entire married life.  They celebrated 56 years of marriage before John passed away in 2002.

Louise was a longtime member of Epiphany Lutheran Church.  She and John helped with the church newsletter for several years after John's retirement.  She enjoyed reading the Bible and rejoiced in the news of the New Testament.   She had a strong faith that sustained her throughout life.

Louise was able to live in her own home until she was 97 years old.  She was very proud of this achievement and loved telling everyone her age.

Among her interests, she enjoyed family visits, bragging about her grandsons and great grandchildren, the company of friends, trips up north fishing with her family in her younger years, trips with John after his retirement , talking about the "old days" and her lifelong hobby of sewing.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra & James Ivanoski; grandchildren, James (Dawn) Ivanoski and Scott (Jennifer) Ivanoski; great-grandchildren, Lauren & Joshua Ivanoski; sister, Emma Kellaher; sister-in-law, Helen Schultz; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Louise was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Martin (Esther) Schultz, Laura (Ephriam) Rapp, Esther (Raymond) Siirila, Elsie (Clayton) Ritchart, Edwin (Caroline) Schultz, Elmer Schultz, Ella (Doug) Derr, Hilda (Irvin) Lucht and George Schultz; and brother-in-law, Francis Kellaher.

Funeral services will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Michael Zarling officiating. Private interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday from 12-1 pm. Memorials to Epiphany Lutheran Church has been suggested.
