Lucy Roushia

Jun 21, 1939 – Jan 3, 2013

Racine–  Lucy Roushia “Big Lu”, 73, passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center on Thursday, January 3, 2013 following a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Lucy was born in Racine on June 21, 1939, the daughter of Kerkor and Anita (nee: Vetanian) Nalbadian. She was united in marriage with the love of her life, Lyle D. Roushia, on December 2, 1961 in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.

Lucy was a beautiful woman inside and out. She dedicated her life to pleasing and loving her husband. There was nothing more important in life than her family. As long as they were okay….she was just fine. Among her interests, she enjoyed playing Bingo, playing the lottery and cheering on her beloved “Chicago Cubs”.

Surviving are her loving husband of over 51 years, Lyle; children, Paul (Helen) Roushia of Smithfield, VA; Lynne (Don) Kalous, Lyle Roushia Jr., Dean (Jennifer) Roushia and Tina (Pascual) Toscano, all of Racine. She was blessed with 10 beautiful grandchildren and 3 treasured great-grandchildren (with another 2 on the way). Also surviving are two sisters, Sophie Chardukian and Mary Neau; brother, John (Rosemary) Nalbadian; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Lucy was preceded in death by her sister, Rosie Nalbadian.

Funeral services will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-7 pm and on Wednesday from 10-11 am. In memory of Lucy, memorials to her family have been suggested.
