Racine– Marc William Heusdens, age 54, affectionately known to many as “Tex”, passed away at Wheaton Francsican – All Saints Medical Center on Saturday, October 27, 2012 after a brief, yet brave, battle with cancer.
Marc was born in Racine on April 24, 1958 to the late William and Donna (nee: Hader) Heusdens. He attended the schools of Knapp, Starbuck and Washington Park. He faithfully served our Country for four years as a United States Marine from 1974 -1978.
As an accomplished welder, Marc was employed by Jacobsen Textron, Thermal Transfer, and Sater. Some of his favorite pastimes included antique collecting, golfing, being the life of “the party”, setting up a TV outside to watch the Packers, sitting by a campfire, and cruising around on his Harley. Above all, Marc loved nothing more than spending time with his loved ones and extensive circle of friends. He will be greatly missed.
He was the proud father of his adored daughter, Sarah Heusdens. Further surviving are his brothers, Scott (Roxanne) Heusdens and Kurt (Linda Ekern) Heusdens; nephews, Chad, Adam (Keri), Kyle and Eric Heusdens; niece, Melissa Heusdens; other relatives and hundreds of special friends too numerous to mention by name.
A service of remembrance to celebrate Marc’s life will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 6:00 pm. Please come prepared with a story or memory to share at the service. Military honors and a reception will follow. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 3-6 pm.
A special note of thanks to Dr. Young Choi and Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Hospital especially the wonderful nursing staff on floor 3B for the incredible care and support given in Marc’s time of need. May God bless all of you!
