Maria Morado

May 22, 1936 – May 18, 2011

Racine – Maria G. Morado, 74, fell into eternal slumber at her residence on Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Maria was born in Camargo, Tamaulipas, Mexico on May 22, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Miguel and Canuta (nee: Gracia) Zuniga, Jr., and has resided in Racine most of her life.

Maria was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and a friend to many.  She would often put the needs of her loved ones above her own. She took great pride in providing a warm, inviting and loving home.  She especially loved a house full of family and friends, and enjoyed their company and hearing their laughter fill her home. She was member of Cristo Rey Parish for many years, and loved to attend as often as she could.

Maria will be forever missed by her husband, Pedro Morado; her Daughter Alexis and husband Jose Luis Pineda whom she loved as a son; her son, Enrique (Emma) Cruz, Jr.; granddaughter, Melissa, grandsons; Enrique and Adam Cruz; great grandchildren; Joseph Cruz, and Natalia Cantu. She is further survived by her sister, Lucia Sanchez and niece, Esmeralda Sanchez;  brother, Pedro (Rosa) Zuniga and family; niece San Juanita Ortega and family; great-niece Naomi Ortega and family; great-nephew Angel Ortega and daughter; all of the Ramirez family; sister-in-law, Rosalie Zuniga and family; and two very dear friends to the family Elena Velasquez, and Maria Isabel Bermudez  and her two sons whom she considered her grandchildren and were always around her, Marco Munoz and Carlo Salcedo. She will be received in heaven by her brothers, Antonio and Gabriel Zuniga; and sister, Albina Ramirez.

The funeral mass for Maria will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Cristo Rey Parish, 800 College Avenue, with Fr. Esteban Redolad presiding. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery immediately following the service. Gifts to Cristo Rey Parish in Maria’s memory have been suggested.

Thank you to her family and friends that stayed at her bedside. The love and warmth that you gave to her in her last moments will be taken with her in her heart forever.  Also thank you for the many other relatives and friends that visited.

Testimonials

June 24, 2020

Can’t thank Gary and you all enough for our fathers funeral arrangements (Victor Joseph Morris) June 18th, 2020.
He would have been SO proud. So many little personal details that we were not even expecting, totally overwhelmed us. From the pamphlets to the thank-you notes and copies of the video, to the beautiful casket picture and arrangement. Pop looked as proud as he was in life. And thanks also to the very cooperative and helpful staff. We thought it would take much longer to knock this all out at our one and only meeting with Gary. We did not want to overlook, or forget to give our heartfelt thanks for such wonderful service at such a horrible time in our lives.
God Bless,
Bob Morris
