Mount Pleasant – Marie Antoinette Feigel, age 87, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 after being diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor.

Marie was born in the Town of Wood, Wisconsin on May 6, 1938 to the late Henry and Michaline “Lina” (nee: Dolata) Drechsler. A graduate of Mary Heart High School, Marie attended Marquette University, where she graduated as a physical therapist.  With an abundant amount of compassion and dedication for others, she chose the pathway of serving others by providing physical therapy – in the homes of those in need.

Among her interests, Marie was an accomplished gardener with a gift of a green thumb, having beautiful rose, tomato & vegetable gardens; always made sure the birds & squirrels were fed and looked forward to watching them through her kitchen window. She also loved knitting shawls & blankets that she handcrafted for the enjoyment of others.

On July 8, 1978, in Pittsville, Marie was united in marriage, with the love of her life, Hugh “Bill” Barrett Feigel, Jr. Marie & Bill loved & treasured their entire family and had quite the extensive circle of friends, of whom quite often gathered in their home. Sadly, Bill passed away on March 19, 2023.

Marie was a proud and faithful member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, where she was active and volunteered in many ways. Marie was known as the “decorator” at church, providing all the beautiful decorations for holidays and special events. You always knew it was “Marie” that provided her unique touch. With her Catholic faith being of the utmost important priority in life, Marie was dedicated to the Blessed Mother and could often be found praying The Rosary. She was passionate about feeding the hungry through her work at the food pantry and cooking & serving at the St. Rose / HALO meal program.

Surviving are her children, Lisa (Ed) Duda, Kris (Ericka) Feigel, Karl (Denise) Feigel and Lori (Dick) Blackburn; 10 grandchildren, Ashley, Hannah, Zachariah, Ryan, Stephanie, Christopher, Emily, Anthony, Karen and Chad; 7 great-grandchildren, Cruze, Emma, Dax, Laura, Brooke, Axel and Grady; sisters, Margaret Hamers and Dorothy Pilsner; brothers, John (Sharon) Drechsler and Carl (Mary Beth) Drechsler; sister-in-law, Beverly Drechsler; nieces, nephews, other relatives, neighbors and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Marie was preceded in death by her step-daughter, Bonnie (Harry) Heiland; brothers, Henry, Joseph and Harry Drechsler; brothers-in-law, Roger Hamers and Ronald Pilsner; and by Bill’s parents, Hugh B. Feigel Sr. and Thelma Pauline (nee: Williamson) Feigel.

The Family of Barbara Bell

Michael,

First, let me start out by saying you were a God sent working with me for many years in preparations for my mom’s Homegoing Celebration December 7, 2024. Even though this was our first time meeting in person, I felt like I already knew you. Michael, you demonstrated professionalism, empathy and, your warmth was surprising for me considering your role as a Funeral Director. Your attention to every detail, patient and support has made this process much easier for my family and me. I trusted you and you helped me find closure in a moment of great sadness, and for that we’re eternally grateful. I appreciate the time and energy you put into ensuring everything ran smoothly considering I reside in a different state. Michael, my mom would have loved you and our family is forever grateful for your unwavering dedication and support during our season of grief. May the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you. (Numbers 6:25)
