Obituary

Marie L. Rosenbaum, 88, passed away in Ridgewood Care Center on Saturday, December 19, 2015. She was born in Racine on February 16, 1927, the daughter of the late Fred and Barbara (nee: Henkes) Richter. On November 9, 1944, in St. Sebastian Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Lester R. Rosenbaum who preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 2010.  Mrs. Rosenbaum was a lifetime member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, playing her guitar, singing, bird watching, and was an avid Cubs fan. Her greatest love was the time she spent with her family and friends. Surviving are her children, Barb (Bob) Bertzyk, Charles Rosenbaum, all of Racine, Timothy (Gynith) Rosenbaum, of Richland Center, Donald Rosenbaum, Santa Cruz, NM, and Jeanine Griffith, of Elkhart, IN  grandchildren, Robert (Dawn) Bertzyk, Tammy  Nickl, of Whitehall, WI, Robin (Jenny) Bertzyk, of Racine, Joseph (Erica) Jensen, of Elkhart, IN, Ian White, of Denver, CO; eight great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; sister, Dolores Peterson, of Tucson, AZ. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Mrs. Rosenbaum was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Rosenbaum, brother, Fred Richter, and sister, Margaret (Ralph) Hinton, and brother-in-law Don Peterson. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Sebastian Catholic Church,    3126-95th St., Sturtevant, on Tuesday, December 29th at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Tuesday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will be in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Dover. The family has suggested memorials to St. Monica's Senior Citizen Home, 3920 N. Green Bay Rd. Racine, 53404. The family would like to thank the entire staffs of, St. Monica's, Ridgewood       Care Center, and Hospice Alliance, for the care and devotion shown to Mrs. Rosenbaum for the past year.
