KENOSHA – Mrs. Marion S. Mahaffy, 86, passed away at her residence with her loving daughters by her side on January 3, 2016.
She was born in Racine on June 25, 1929, the daughter of the late Tom and Violet (nee: Mincey) Tarkington. Marion graduated from Washington Park High School. On August 21, 1948 she married Alfred Mahaffy. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2005.
Marion worked at Wisconsin Natural Gas (We Energies) for over 40 years and loved every minute of her time there. She truly valued her friends and co-workers. She also volunteered for the senior lunch program. Marion enjoyed rose gardening, Waterford Crystal, rock collecting, concerts by the lake in Kenosha and rescuing kittens.
She is survived by her daughters and caretakers, Michel (Thomas) Sevick, Renee Aker both of Kenosha; her grandchildren, Michael (Kari) Sevick of Racine, Danielle (Scott Deardorf) Sevick of Kenosha, Heath (Kari) Mahaffy of Burlington; her great grandchildren, Reid Mahaffy, Nolan Reuter, Jayde Mahaffy, Aiden Mahaffy; her sister, Patricia Hazlett of Racine; as well as dear nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Crystal Aker Mohr; and her brother, Jack (Jean) Tarkington.
Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Monday evening for a visitation from 5-7 p.m. A service celebrating and remembering her life will take place in the funeral home on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Holly Anderle officiating. There will also be a visitation on Tuesday before the service from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
