Obituary

SOMERS – Marjorie Ann Tenuta, 81, passed away unexpectedly and went home to God on Monday, April 10, 2017.

She was born in Racine on July 26, 1935, the daughter of the late Herbert John and Arvilla Marie (nee: McGovern) Thieme.  Marjorie graduated from Horlick High School.  On June 7, 1958 she married Joseph Michael Tenuta at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Racine.  He preceded her in death on January 12, 2017.

Marjorie worked for Oster Manufacturing, the Rialto and Venetian Theaters and Multi-Products. She was a longtime member of St. Lucy Catholic Church.  In her earlier years she enjoyed softball and bowling leagues, visiting casinos, attending craft shows, rummage and estate sales, shopping with her daughter and best friend, Bonnie, and being in the company of her grandchildren.

Marjorie  is survived by her daughters and son, Susan (David) O'Brien of Sturtevant, Bonnie (Wayne Johnson) Tenuta Johnson, Michael (Loida) Tenuta both of Racine; her grandchildren, Aisha (Noah) Post, Casey O'Brien, Brianny Tenuta, Valerie Tenuta and Michael Tenuta II; her great grandchildren, Kaden and Leah Post; her sister,  Kathleen (Harry) Hansen; her brother, John Thieme both of Racine; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Louise (Alfredo) Greco of Kenosha and John Brack of Racine; as well as step grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband, Marjorie was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Brack and 8 brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Thursday evening for a visitation from 4-7 p.m.  The celebration of Marjorie's life and funeral Mass will take place at St. Lucy Catholic Church (3101 Drexel Ave. Racine) on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Javier Guativa officiating.  There will also be a visitation in the church on Friday from 10-11 a.m. Her interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park following the Mass.
