Racine- Marshall William Leisner, 76, was born into Eternal Life on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 following a brief, yet courageous, battle with cancer. A lifetime resident, Marshall was born in Racine on August 29, 1930 to the late Edward and Katherine (nee: Smogur) Leisner. A man of great patriotism, he faithfully served our Country with the United States Army and Air Force in the Korean War, stationed mostly in Seoul, Korea and in Japan. On February 9, 1957 at Trinity Methodist Church in Racine, he was united in marriage with the love of his life, Patricia Ann Arndt. During his working career, he was employed by American Motors, Case Corp., and retired from Express Freight. He willingly and anxiously accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 200 retirees and the NRA. Among his interests, Marshall enjoyed woodworking. He crafted many cupboards and cabinets over the years. Earlier in life, he meticulously built model wooden ships with perfect detail, winning several awards and honors in model competitions. He was also a fabulous cook, having a fond reputation for his scrumptious pies. Marshall truly enjoyed gardening especially his roses and tulips; fishing and hunting; mastering the BBQ grille; reading; and cheering on the Green Bay Packers. Above all, he loved being in the surroundings of his entire family. Surviving are his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Pat; their sons, Scott Leisner of Toledo, OH and Steve Leisner of Racine; sister, Carol (Tom) Waddle; brothers, Robert (Lynn) Leisner and Lyle (Kathy) Leisner; sister-in-law, Margie (Roy) Ormond; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Marshall was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Mildred Heckel. Funeral services will be celebrated in the funeral home, 4600 County Line Rd., on Friday, January 26, 2007 at 11:00 am with Rev. Cole Griffin officiating and Minister Mike McCrary assisting. Interment, with full military honors, will follow at the S. Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 10-11 am.
