Mary Ella Case Baird, 75, passed away at WFH All Saints Hospital on Saturday, January 22, 2011. She was born in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina on February 20, 1935, daughter of the late Martin and Lillian (nee: Cole) Case. On September 29th, 1953 she was married in Roanoke Rapids to William Baird.

Mary dedicated her life to her husband and family as they moved all over the country during William's army career. She was a proud home maker, and loved to cook and bake for them from scratch. She and William settled in Racine following his retirement.

She is survived by her husband, William "Pete" Baird; their children, Paige (Laurence) Gordon of Beach Park, Illinois, Michael Baird of Mettawa, Illinois, and Pat Baird of Pleasant Prairie; grandson, Scott (Christina) Gordon of Wauconda, Illinois; and her sister, Nancy (Carlton) Edwards of Gaston, North Carolina.

All are invited to visit with the family in the funeral home from 5pm-7pm on Wednesday, January 26, 2011. Private services will take place at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Memorials to the Disabled American Veterans have been suggested.
