Obituary

Mary F. Stein, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 7, 2011, in the Hospice Alliance Hospice House, Pleasant Prairie, with her daughter at her side. She was born in Pleasant Prairie on October 12, 1924, the daughter of the late Frank and Sarah (nee: Bell) Loizzo. She was a lifetime resident of Kenosha County.

Mary graduated from Kenosha High School, Class of '42. She served her country with the United States Army Air Corps from 1944 until 1946. On December 13, 1948, in Kenosha, she was united in marriage to her childhood friend, Kurt Stein, who preceded her in death on May 5, 2008. She was an avid golfer and was a member of the Zion Women's Golf League. In 1995 she scored a hole in one on the 7 th hole at Shiloh Golf Course. Mary enjoyed baking, cooking, and taking bus trips to various casinos with her friends.

Surviving are her son, Kurt A. Stein, of Kenosha, and daughter, Cindy A. Stein, of Oak Creek. Her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends further survive her. In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by her sister Shirley and brother, Anthony. Private services were held.

Thanks, eternally, to Dr. Neil Shepler, Dr. David Knight, and Dr. Anna Silenzi.  We would also like to thank the I.C.U. Department of St. Catherine's Hospital, especially Jennifer and Jim for the wonderful care given to Mary.  Our love to Sally and all the staff and all the volunteers at Hospice House Alliance for the love and compassion shown to Mary and her family.
