His funeral service, with full military honors, will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, October 20th, at 5:00 p.m. Visitation will be in the funeral home that Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Private entombment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park.

Max P. Lohnhardt, passed away at Shorelight Memory Care on Thursday, October 14, 2021. He was born in Wurben, Germany on October 4, 1932, the youngest son of late Joseph and Ida (nee: Kaschel) Lohnhardt.
He was united in marriage to his loving wife, Brunhilde (nee: Wolter) on August 25, 1956 . Max came to the United States in 1952 and then served his country with the U.S. Army from 1954 until 1962. He was employed by the City of Racine as a firefighter for over 25 years, retiring in 1987. He then began working at the clubhouse at Johnson Park for over 25 years. He enjoyed many rounds of golf and dancing with his wife, two of his favorite pastimes. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends.
Max was a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church, the Firefighters Local #321, and the Deutscher Manner Verein. He was proud of his German heritage, but especially proud to be an American.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Brunhilde; their children, Doris Ground of Kansas City, MO, Ronnie (Susan) Lohnhardt of Mount Pleasant and Mary (Randy) Thillemann of Franksville; seven grandchildren, Allison Opperman, Stephanie (Steve) Klein, Michelle Opperman, Joseph (Erin) Thillemann, Jessica Lohnhardt, Matthew Thillemann, and Max (Lindsay) Lohnhardt; seven great-grandchildren, Madison, Ashton, Evan, Collin, Marcus, Nathan, and Vincent.
