Mrs. Mearlean Patton (nee: Payne) received her wings and peacefully crossed over on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Ascension All Saints Hospital.
Mearlean was born December 14, 1938, in Magee, MS, to Martin Luther and Earlie Mae Payne (nee: MaGee). Mearlean united in marriage at an early age to Eula "Leo" Patton in 1952. She was employed at the Little Red School House in Jackson, MS. Mearlean & Leo relocated to Racine, WI in 1965. She was a resident of Racine, WI for 54 years.
As a resident of Racine, she was first employed at Kappus Bakery. For many years following, she was a homemaker and focused on her family. She returned to the workforce in 1995 at Lincoln Lutheran of Racine and ended her career at Franciscan Villa in 2009.
Mearlean deeply valued family. She especially appreciated the quality time she shared with her sisters and extended family. In more recent years she came to be known as "Tushae" or "Mama" by many. Mearlean enjoyed spending time out in the sun. She loved her two dogs, Pattie & Coco and going to the casino.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory two sons, Tyrone (Joyce) Patton of Atlanta, GA. and Stanley (Leslie) Patton of Racine, WI; two adopted children, Kevin (Tasha) Simpson of Racine, WI and Jeanni Simpson (Fiancé Joseph Aubee) of Washington, DC; six sisters Wyvonia (Robert) Logan, Loree, Mozella, all of Jackson, Betty and Ruby of Racine, WI; Tyrenia of Jacksonville, FL; one brother Ronnie of Jackson, MS; eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, and a special friend of the family Rosie Carter. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, one sister, one son, Terry Patton, and one granddaughter, Terryania Patton.
Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Friday, April 5, 2019 for a visitation from 10-11 a.m. A service celebrating he life and Homegoing will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Michael Martin officiating. Her interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
