Racine – Mercedes “Mickie” Warner, 98, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2013. She was born in Lake Geneva on January 23, 1915, daughter of the late Claude and Ruth (nee: Button) Williams.
Mickie was united in marriage to the late Herbert Warner. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to her family. Mickie was an artistic person and loved to paint. Her famous project involved painting the first ladies from Martha Washington to Pat Nixon on actual goose eggs. In her younger years, Herbert and Mickie loved to play golf. She continued to be a fan and watched tournaments faithfully on TV when she could no longer physically play the game. Mickie will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
Mickie leaves to cherish her memory, her sister, Beverly Larsen, as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. In addition to her husband, Herbert, Mickie is preceded in death by her son, Gary Warner.
No formal services will be held at this time. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Elkhorn.
The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Vivian DeGrave for her devotion and care of Mickie over the past several years.
