Chicago, Illinois (formerly of Wind Point, WI) – Mia Terese Guion, age 23-years-young, tragically lost her life as the result of an automobile accident that occurred near Geneseo, IL, early Friday evening, June 8, 2018, on her way to visit a close friend in Iowa.

The youngest of three sisters, Mia was born in Park Ridge, IL, on November 13, 1994, to Edward Guion and Camille "Kim" Jensen-Guion. She attended Jefferson Lighthouse and The Prairie School, graduating in 2013. While at Prairie, she proudly ran cross country and track, played soccer, was involved in theatre & music, and played the violin & viola. Mia went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts in Advertising from Iowa State University with a minor in Business, graduating in 2017. At Iowa State, Mia was active in Alpha Omicron Pi sorority, where she met some of her dearest friends. She led the sorority in its annual philanthropy event with the Ames Area Running Club, the 30 ^th Anniversary of the "Run for the Roses" 5K race, where her committee raised a record amount of charitable donations for arthritis research. She was also a Washington Media Scholar and was awarded 1 ^st Place in the 2017 Media Plan Case Competition, which took place in Washington, D.C. and was featured in the Washington Post.

During her college years, she had summer marketing internships at both the Wisconsin State Lottery in Madison, WI, and Kum & Go convenience store retailer in West Des Moines, IA. After graduating from college, Mia fulfilled her dream of moving to Chicago, where her sisters lived. She began her advertising career with PHD Media Chicago. In recent weeks, Mia was so excited to be in her new position as a Media Planner with the independent media agency, Kelly Scott Madison in Chicago.

Outside of school and work, Mia enjoyed country music, spending time with her sisters, caring for her dog Rizzo, painting artwork, going for long runs, and being at the Burlington family cottage on Bohners Lake, her "favorite place on earth." Above all, Mia loved spending time with her entire family and extensive circle of friends. Her warmth, bright smile, infectious laugh, gentleness, strength, sense of humor, and kind spirit will live on in all of the hearts and lives she touched.

Surviving are her loving parents, Edward Guion and Camille "Kim" Jensen-Guion; adored sisters, Hannah and Haley Guion; treasured boyfriend, James Brady, dear grandmother, Rita Jensen; special uncles and aunts, Peter C. (Susan) Guion, Martha J. (Michael) McCarty, Bruce (JoAnne) Jensen and Randy Jensen; lifelong best-friend, Anneliese Chiappetta; many close cousins, other relatives, sorority sisters, and devoted friends – too numerous to mention all by name. Mia was preceded in death by her grandparents, Philip R. & Jean L. Guion, and Kenneth Jensen.

A memorial service to celebrate Mia's amazing life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church (716 College Avenue Racine, WI 53403) with Pastor Gillian Weighton and Pastor Steve Fringer officiating. A reception will follow. Visitation will be in the church on Saturday from 9:00 – 11:00 am.

In memory of Mia, memorials to The Prairie School Performing Arts Department, The Prairie School Compass Program (to support diverse, school-related needs of all students to maximize each student's learning potential), Iowa State University Foundation, or to First Presbyterian Church have been suggested.
