Obituary

Michael David Bado, age 48, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on April 5th, 2018. He was born in Racine, on April 12th, 1969, to Frank M. Bado and Susan C. (Nee: DeSmidt) Bado.

Michael graduated from J. I. Case High School class of 1987 and continued his education at the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater graduating with a B.S.E. degree, then on to the University of Illinois at Champagne-Urbana receiving his master's Degree in Journalism. After reviewing his many offers, upon graduating he chose to embark his teaching career at Glenbard North High School in Carol Stream, Illinois staying there for his entire twenty three-year career.

At Glenbard North, Michael taught English using his passion for books and writing to inspire his students. He enjoyed connecting with them individually and encouraging them to realize their own potential. Many of Michael's students shared stories of how he was an influence in their life making each one feel important, also crediting him as their favorite teacher. He extremely enjoyed coaching girl's track and cross country at Glenbard North with Gary, his friend of many years.

Michael's other interests included mountain biking, marathon races, reading, concerts, and of course, his Minnesota Vikings. He was also a fan of the Milwaukee Brewers, watching and attending games with his dad and friends whenever possible.

We can't leave out Michael's enthusiasm and love for music. His collection and knowledge of bands and songs could have been a second career.

Finally, and sentimentally, Michael loved Spider-Man and Mickey Mouse. He probably wouldn't appreciate the mention of this, but be must said, he loved them both.

Michael leaves to cherish his memory, mother Susan C Bado, sister Penny (Pete) Niccolai, brother Robert (Carol) Bado, uncles Sylvester (Marvis) Bado and Joseph (Marion) Bado, numerous cousins, nephews, and niece. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Frank Bado, his grandparents, his aunts, Irene Mielcarek and Barbara Bado and cousins, Billy Bado, Tony Mielcarek, and Tommy Mielcarek.

His funeral will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, April 15 th , at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Ronald Gramza officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Private burial will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank Gary Heilers and his wife, Tracy, for their constant friendship and support to Michael, also ,the caring students and staff of Glenbard North High School.
