Michael Chasar

   Michael Chasar, 81, passed away in Kenosha Medical Center on Saturday, December 12, 2009.

   He was born in Jeddo, PA on August, 18, 1928 the son of the late John and Anna (nee: Stofan) Chasar.

   Mike served his country with the U.S. Army. On May 16, 1953, in Pentecost Evangelical Lutheran Church, he was united in marriage to the former Ann Swiencicki. Mike had been employed by Western Publishing for over 25 years. He was a member of Pentecost Lutheran Church, the church’s Men’s Club, church usher, the Western Publishing 20 Year Club, and the V.F.W. Post 1391. Mike enjoyed golfing, fishing and was an diehard Cubs Fan.      

   Surviving are his beloved wife of 56 years, Ann; sisters, Ann Ello of Racine and Mary Wood of White Haven, PA; sisters-in-law Giesla Chasar of Warrensburg, MO and Alice Chasar of San Jose, CA. His nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends further survive him.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers John and George Chasar,  and three sisters, Margaret Bunchak, Helen Chasar and Theresa Semasek.

   His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 in Pentecost Lutheran Church, 2213 Coolidge Ave., with Rev. Luke Jacob and Rev. Milan Babel officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and in the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service, Burial, with full military honors, will follow in Graceland Cemetery. The family has suggested memorials to Pentecost Lutheran Church.

  Ann would like to thank Diane, Wes, and Carrie Larsen for all the love and support throughout Mike’s illness.
