Obituary

Racine – Michael Charles Kemen; age 80; passed away on Saturday evening, August 29, 2015 at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center.

Michael was born in Racine on November 22, 1934 to the late Albert and Harriet (nee: Karwatzki) Kemen. On October 29, 1955 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, he was united in marriage with Marjorie Jean (nee: Bolter) Kemen, who preceded him in death on February 23, 2010. Mike proudly served our country in the United States Army in the atomic weapon division as a tech and received awards for expert sharpshooter.

Michael owned and operated Expert T.V. & Repair on Taylor Avenue for many, many years. Outside of work, his life revolved around fishing – especially with his good friend, Bob Stone. Mike prided himself in making his own fishing lures "Kemen's Elite", a talent that he has now passed down to his 13 year old great-grandson, Tyler Schon. Mike also enjoyed bowling, playing cards and selling at area flea markets with his beloved wife, Marge.

Surviving are his children, Linda C. (William) Baker, Cinda M. (Andrew) Emmrich, BeLinda L. (Ernest) Salinas and Michael A. (Margaret) Kemen; seven grandchildren; many adored great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia (Walter) Melik; sister-in-law, Wendy Bolter and Laura Bolter; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mike was preceded in death by his sister, Connie Aabye; brothers-in-law, Chester Bolter, Rodger Bolter, Wayne Bolter; and sisters-in-law, Lois Bolter and Beverly Leonard.

A Service of Remembrance celebrating Michael's life will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 12:30 pm with Rev. Chuck Wasik officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm.

A heartfelt note of thanks to the entire staff at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center (especially the Emergency Room) for doing everything in their powers to save our Dad & Grandpa. May God bless all of you!
