Michael D. Lamers, 71, passed away peacefully at his beloved lake home in Lake Tomahawk, on Sunday, June 28, 2020. He was born in Racine on January 5, 1949, the son of the late John and Annette (nee: Haas) Lamers.

On October 26, 1969, in St. Lucy's Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to Cathy J. Anthonsen. He had been employed by SC Johnson for over 44 years. Michael was a member of the JMBA and the Johnson Retirees. He loved being at his lake home in northern Wisconsin. He had a passion for hunting with his son Aaron, as they took many hunting trips all over the world, some included: Wisconsin, Michigan, Montana, Colorado, British Columbia and Africa. He also enjoyed his daily coffee sessions with his two friends, Bill and Dennis.

Surviving are his wife, Cathy; their children, Stacey Lamers, of Racine; Aaron Lamers, of Spring Prairie; his granddaughter, Londyn Lamers (Little Honey), whom he greatly adored; brother, Joe (Barb) Lamers, of Ft. Meyers Beach, Florida; sister, Kay (Don) Skorke, of Pickens, South Carolina; sister-in-law, Judy Lamers, of Racine; brothers-in-law, Bruce (Jan) Anthonsen, and Dean Anthonsen, all of Kenosha. His nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley (Jim) Runkel; brothers, James Lamers, John (Lorna) Lamers, and Larry Lamers; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dorothy and Sidney Anthonsen, and brother-in-law, Keith Anthonsen.

Service Details

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held in the funeral home on Friday, July 10 ^th at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will be in the funeral home on that Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Please see the funeral home website for the complete obituary. In accordance with Racine County mandate, only 50 people will be allowed to enter the funeral home at a time.  You may be required to wait outside until others leave the building.  For the safety and security of our guests we also require those in attendance to wear a face covering.  We thank everyone for their understanding and cooperation during this difficult time.
