Our dear Michael was called to his Eternal Home on Sunday, December 13, 2009, after a very brief battle with T-Cell Acute Lyphoblastic Lymphoma. He was born in Washington, PA, on July 12, 1947, the son of Michael and Martha (nee: Cierebiej) Miklasevich. Mike graduated from Youngstown State University. He had retired as Manager of Case Credit of North America. Mike owned and operated Double M Investments. Mike represented Mt. Pleasant on the Racine County Board since 1996. He was currently Chair of the Health and Human Development Committee, and a member of the Executive Committee, as well as serving on the Public Protection and Justice System Committee. Mike was also a member of the Southeastern Regional Planning Committee. He was County Board Chair from 2006 to 2008 and also served on the Economic Development and Land Use Planning Committee. Mike was a member of the Make A Difference Day Committee, which won national honors from 1995-2000 and a member of the Greater Racine delegation in 2003 when Racine was named an All America City. He was nationally involved with the Children's Shrine Hospitals, and an active member of the Tripoli Shrine Club, the Racine Shrine Club, Racine Masons, and Milwaukee Court #101 of the Jesters. Mike was a member of St. Richard's Catholic Church, and served on the Holy Name Elementary School Board. He was a founding member of the Racine Landlord's Association. His passion was serving and promoting the Racine Community; always ready to help at a moment's notice never wanting any credit or recognition. Mike enjoyed life to the fullest especially spending time with close friends. He loved his travels around the country and cruises with his special Shriner friends. When it came to good food his favorite place above all others was to enjoy prime-rib at The Corner House and have a close friend make an apple pie. His two favorite sayings were "Isn't that special!" and "It was the right thing to do." Mike not only had strong faith but lived it. Surviving are his mother, Martha Miklasevich; brothers, George Miklasevich and Richard Miklasevich all of Pulaski, PA; aunts, Sophie Miklasevich, of Hershey, PA and Annie Carty in FL; uncles, Dr. Al Cierebiej in WA, Ed Cierebiej in OH and Hank Cierbee in VA; his unofficial adopted sisters, Claudia Kovara, Joyce Smith, and Lorna George; special friends, Dan Kovara, Dennis and Becky St. Martin, Jim Smith, and Todd and Sandy Nelson. Mike is further survived by many other extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Miklasevich and brother, John Miklasevich. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Richard of Chichester Catholic Church, 15th and Grand Ave. on Friday, December 18th at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Ronald Gramza officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday, December 17th, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and in the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Private Burial will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park. A special thanks to Dr. Michael Mullane for his loving and compassionate care these past 2 months.
