Michelle Leah Fleischman

Mar 30, 1972 – Mar 17, 2020

Service Details

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Michelle Leah Fleischman, a 47 year old Racine resident went home to be with the lord, on March 17, 2020, after a 7 year battle with breast cancer.

She was born in Iron Mountain, Michigan to parents Gail (Brown) Pogue and Ernest Johnson and grew up in Marinette county.

On Sept. 30, 2007 she married Robert Fleischman (gaining stepson Austin Fleischman) and they had a beautiful daughter Violet Fleischman on July 12, 2007.

Michelle was survived by her husband and daughter, her mom and dad, and her sisters, Sheri (Johnson)Smith and Elise (Johnson) Metcalf, her brother Scott Johnson, her stepmom Sue (Erickson) Johnson, as well as her brother and sister in law Mike Fleischman and Karen (Fleischman) Geller. She has many other extended family members, all of whom were loved dearly. She also gained many close friends as she also lived in California, Virginia and back to Wisconsin.

From early on Michelle was known for her passion for life and hard work ethic, always doing the best to get it right. She was probably best known for the caring over others, and throughout her career took on many care giving rolls. Her last work adventure was played out as a massage and bodywork therapist. After 2 years her business “Massage & Stretch” grew into a larger establishment, which was well known for pain and stress relief in the greater Racine area. Michelle was well known for her concern for others and her favorite saying from the mining days was “The best safety device is a careful man.”

Michelle had a true passion for going “up North” with her family and enjoying everything nature had to offer; fishing, crossbow hunting, attending the county fairs to name a few.

After high school and her short military career/training Michelle finally settled in southern California where she met and married her sweetheart, love of her life, and best friend Robert Fleischman.

Michelle and Robert lived in California, where their daughter was born, and then moved to Virginia. After 5 years they then moved back home to Wisconsin after her battle with breast cancer.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

I was very grateful to know Michelle even if it was for a short while. She really did know how the body works as I was one of her clients. She was a really good massage/bodywork therapist.
We had nice conversations and come to find out we had more in common, but didn’t realize it until she was really sick. I’m glad we were able to meet and talk when we did. She also knew the Lord and witnessed to those around her. She will be missed greatly but looking forward to seeing her in heaven some day!

I knew Michelle when she lived in Cali. We were very good friends and roommates, then coworkers in physical therapy too. She was a wonderful, fun, warm, kind and intelligent person. I wish we hadn’t fallen out of touch with each other. She’ll always be in my heart, and will be missed very much.

I’d like to thank Brian Langendorf and staff for putting on a great memorial and celebration of life service for my mom. We received great feedback from our family and friends. My dad was especially appreciative on how it went and was very happy with the result. Thank you!!
