Racine- Mildred (nee: Pekar) Rymenams, 85, passed away at the Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center on Monday, January 8, 2007. A lifetime resident, she was born in Racine on July 22, 1921 to the late Martin and Ann (nee: Zabadal) Pekar, Sr. A proud and successful homemaker, Mildred graduated from Washington Park High School in 1940. On October 18, 1941 in Pentecost Evangelical Lutheran Church, she was united in marriage with Frank J. Rymenams, who preceded her in death on November 13, 2002. Mildred was a faithful member of Pentecost Ev. Lutheran Church where she was active with the Ruth Circle and the 55+ Club. She was also a member of the Wisconsin Slovak Historical Society and the United Lutheran Society. Among her interests, she enjoyed crafts and crocheting. Above all, she loved and cherished being in the surroundings of her entire family. Surviving are her son, Kenneth (Sue) Rymenams of Kenosha; daughter, Karen (William) Jackowski of Franksville; grandchildren, Kristine (Mark) Arneson, Pamela Rymenams, David (Jennifer) Jackowski, all of Racine, and Daniel Jackowski of Franksville; great-grandchildren, Sean Fifield, Ethan Rymenams, Lucas and Claire Jackowski; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Mildred was preceded in death by her brother, Martin (Catherine) Pekar, Jr.; sister, Elizabeth Scholzen; in-laws, Joseph and Virginia (nee: Vitts) Rymenams; and brothers-in-law, Gustav (Billie) and John (Joan) Rymenams. Funeral services will be held in Pentecost Ev. Lutheran Church, 2213 Coolidge Ave., on Friday, January 12, 2007 at 11:00 am with Rev. Milan J. Babel officiating. Entombment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 10-11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Pentecost Lutheran Church have been suggested. A heartfelt note of thanks to the Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center 2D nursing staff, especially Ann; to the caring staff at Harbor House Assisted Living; and to Dr. Paul Durbin for the compassionate care and support that was so warmly extended to our Mom and to our family.
