Minnie Bell Jackson was born on December 28,1949 to the union of the late Grant and Belva Sims in Shelby, Mississippi. Minnie was joined in holy matrimony in June 1969, to the love of her life, the late Tommy L Jackson Sr. To that union, five children were blessed to called them as parents.
Minnie and her husband relocated to Racine. Minnie accepted the call of GOD on her life following in the footsteps of her father who would pray until heaven got the news. As well as being the matriarch of her family, in 1979 Minnie assisted in the relocation of her remaining family members to Wisconsin, marking the last era of plantation life for them. After working the cotton fields of Shelby, Minnie found a new way of life in Racine eventually retiring as a CNC operator at Ganton International. Minnie conquered much hardship in life; throughout it all she remained steadfast. Drawing her strength from GOD, Minnie was a true soldier in his Army. In addition to being a Child of GOD, Minnie was a devoted wife, loving mother, caring sister, family member, and good friend to many.
Minnie was an avid baker and loved to cook; many will miss her famous Seven-Up pound cake. Minnie loved sewing clothes. Her sense of fashion was admired by all who knew her; she always had an extra garment on hand. Minnie Bell never met a stranger, and she was always willing to help anyone in need. Minnie demonstrated the Love of GOD with her life and living. Minnie loved talking about Jesus and sharing about his goodness. Minnie entered eternal rest on January 3, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones.
She leaves to cherish her memory her five children: four sons, Terry (Pavell) Jackson, Tommie Jackson Jr, Christopher Jackson, Grant Jackson, and one daughter Tracie Jackson; loving grandmother to 21 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; 4 nieces and 2 nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Tommy Jackson Sr; her parents, Grant and Belva Sims; mother and father-in-law, Arthur and Charity Jackson; brothers, JC Sims and Willie Sims; sisters, Cora Mae Sims, Beolar Sims, and Earlene Sims; great-granddaughter, Jymilia Lane; niece, Kizzy Sims.
