RACINE – Nancy L. Ellison, 68, was called to her Heavenly home on Monday, October 15, 2007. Nancy was born in Milwaukee on December 2, 1938 to the late LeRoy and Lorraine (nee: Konell) Du Brucq. She graduated from Whitefish Bay High School in 1957. On September 23, 1961, she married the love of her life, Glenn C. Ellison. He preceded her in death on October 8, 2005. Nancy was a longtime member of Christ Church United Methodist where she served in many capacities, including counting church offerings and working mission meals. In addition to her church she enjoyed life the most when in the surroundings of her daughter, granddaughter and her beloved dachshunds. Nancy is survived by her daughter, Debra (Martin Sherman) Ellison of Clare, MI; granddaughter, Emma Gwenn Sherman; nieces and nephew, Jennifer (Andrew) Arvan of Jackson, WI, Karyn (Jeff) Solochek of Brunswick, GA, Karl Gerbitz of Murfreesboro, TN, Amy Rowland of Moulton, AL; brother-in-law, Eugene Gerbitz of Murfreesboro, TN; sister-in-law, Charlotte Mills of Windsor Heights, WV; best friend, Luane Konicek of Racine and numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy was also preceded in death by her sister, Carol Gerbitz; great nephew, Perry Wayne Snyder and her canine companions, Oscar and Fritz. Family and friends are invited to meet at Christ Church United Methodist (5109 Washington Ave.) on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. for the celebration of Nancy's life and funeral with Rev. Jaime Nolla officiating. Nancy will be laid to rest along side her husband, Glenn at Arlington Park Cemetery in Milwaukee. There will be a visitation in the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5-7 pm and in the church on Wednesday from 9-10 a.m. Memorials have been suggested to Christ Church United Methodist, the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association or a charity of one's choice.
