Naomi Marie
Bushell
May 20, 1916 — Oct 20, 2015
Racine – Naomi Marie (nee: Adensam) Bushell, age 99, passed away peacefully, surrounded with the love of her family, on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Kenosha Estates Care Center.
Naomi was born in Racine on May 20, 1916 to the late Frank and Angeline (nee: Goral) Adensam. After 20 years as a homemaker, Naomi began working for Racine Unified School District in food service – serving countless lunches to students in our community before retiring at age 70.
Naomi loved to travel…but would never fly. Thus, upon retirement, she traveled by train from coast to coast including Alaska and Mexico. Naomi was a caring woman who was beloved by her children and friends. She always had a positive disposition. Her gift was a smile and an infectious laugh. Naomi happily gave and received kisses right up to the end. She lived for 99 years and 5 months. All of Naomi's children made it to her bedside on Tuesday, October 20th, 2015 to spend the day with her. That night, as her children became quiet, so did she at 9:30 pm.
Surviving are her children, Mary Ann (Bob) Eaton, Patricia J. Machgan, William R. (Dorothy) Bushell, Vincent J. (Paula Gelbke) Bushell and Naomi Ruth (George Horvat) Bushell; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Naomi was preceded in death by all her siblings, Gene (Clara) Adensam, Ben Adensam, Ted Adensam (KIA in WWII), Carl (Romayne) Adensam, Jeanette (Herman) Etmanczyk and Bernard Adensam.
Funeral services will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 3:00 pm. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. Private interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. In memory of Naomi, memorials to the Alzheimer's Association has been suggested.
The Bushell family expresses deep appreciation to the staff at Kenosha Estates for the 13 years of dedicated care that allowed Naomi's life to be long and comfortable.
