RACINE – Nathaniel "Nick" Finley, 78, passed away at his residence on June 30, 2022.
He was born in Warren, Arkansas on May 24, 1944, the son of the late Forrice and Roxie (nee Price) Finley.
Nick proudly served his nation with the US Army. After the military, he continued to serve as a postal carrier for the United State Postal Service. Always a hard worker, Nick worked at Waxdale after retiring from the post office. He enjoyed his time off bowling, traveling and being in the company of his family.
He is survived by his sons, David (Kathleen) Finley and Kenneth Finley; his brothers and sisters, Rev. Lee (Thelma) Finley, Jim Finley, Jarvis (Marilyn) Finley, Ricky Finley, Betty Berryhill, Alice (Rev. Willie) Riley, and Henrietta (Rev. George) Hamilton; as well as many dear grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to his parents, Nick was preceded in death by his sister, Juanita Person, and his sister-in-law, Bernice Finley.
Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. for a visitation with his family. A memorial service celebrating his life and Homegoing will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. George Hamilton officiating. The service will conclude with Military Honors. A private interment will take place at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
