
Racine– Nathaniel Smith, 75, was called Home by his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 27, 2010. He was born in Belden, MS on February 16, 1935 the son of the late Nathaniel Smith and step-father, Rufus, and Daisy (nee: Harper) Scott.
He had been employed by AMC for over 30 years. Mr. Smith accepted Christ at an early age.
Surviving are his loving wife, Louise Knuckles-Smith; sons, Larry Smith and Danny (Jennifer) Smith; daughters, Annie Smith and Thelma Wiggins; step-children Aquanetta Love, Joseph, Alan (Dia) , Darryl, Corey, Loleta and Laquanda Chavours; 23 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Rufus (Gwen) Scott of Olive Branch, MS; sister, Corrine (Charles) Brown of Lima, OH; mother-in-law, Odesser Knuckles; fifteen brothers and sisters-in-law; special granddaughter, Alyssa Harris; godson, Henry Venzant, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Regina Martin and Evelyn Smith; sisters, Annie Lou Smith, Via E. Moore, Reba Moody, Margaret Driver and Reba Griffin; brothers, LeOdis Scott, Joe Scott and Lee A. Smith.
A Homegoing Service will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at 12:30 pm in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home with Rev. Tommie Knuckles officiating. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm.
