Obituary

Nia Lavette Malone, 44, of Mobile, AL peacefully passed away at the University Hospital on June 12, 2022. Ms. Malone was born on August 6, 1977, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she spent much of her childhood. She was baptized at an early age at Ebeneezer Church of God in Christ. Ms. Malone lived with her mother in Seattle, Washington and Denver, Colorado for several years before relocating to Mobile, Alabama. She graduated from Murphy High School and attended college at the University of South Alabama. She previously worked for many years at the University of South Alabama in the Radiology Department and Life South Community Blood Center. Ms. Malone was employed with AT&T Telecommunications Company.

Ms. Malone leaves to cherish her memory; a loving son, Christopher L. Garner, Jr., mother, Dr. Betty Pace, sister, FeAunte Preyear, brother, Joseph Pace III, nieces, Ashley Green, Autumn Green and a nephew, Kenneth Preyear Jr, great niece, Amara Ward, and additional family members and longtime friends, too numerous to name. Ms. Malone was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Malone Jr., grandparents, Deacon Andrew & Ora Buckley, Thomas Malone Sr. & Willie Jewel Curlin, aunts, Louise Tucker, Mary Martin, Shirley Buckley, Kathy Curlin, and four uncles, Arnold Martin, Terry Buckley, Kelvin Malone and Deacon Walter Brown, Sr.

Homegoing Celebration will be held at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1123 Center Street, on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 with Pastor Della Jane Buckley, officiant & Rev. Victor Thomas, eulogist. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Viewing will be in the church on Tuesday from 10-11 am. For those who wish, you may witness the service via livestream on Tuesday at 11 am by clicking on the link located in Nia's obituary on the funeral home website. ***MASKS ARE REQUIRED WHILE IN CHURCH***

Service Details

Homegoing Celebration will be held at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1123 Center Street, on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 with Pastor Della Jane Buckley, officiant & Rev. Victor Thomas, eulogist. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
