Obituary

Kenosha– Norman Edward Monson, age 55, passed away unexpectedly at United Hospital System – Kenosha Campus on Monday evening, August 4, 2014.

The son of a United States Army soldier, Norman was born in Germany on March 26, 1959 to the late Marshall and Gertrude (nee: Schindeldecker) Monson. He was a graduate of Lane Tech High School and Northeastern University – both in Chicago. A true salesman for his entire career, his was employed by Menard's and Empire Floor Coverings. Norman was a hockey fanatic who enjoyed coaching the Kenosha Komets. Above all, Norman was extremely devoted to his entire family.

Surviving are his daughter, Mickenzie (George) Drury; son, Mark Monson; former wife, Mary Monson; brothers, Edward Monson and Michael (Theresa) Monson; sister, Christina Monson; mother-in-law, Frieda Figas; other dear relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his beloved brother at age 5, James "Jimmy" Monson; and father-in-law, Gustav Figas.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Norman's life will be held at the HobNob Restaurant, 277 Sheridan Road, on Monday, August 11, 2014 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm.
