Obituary

Obie Lynell Glover, Jr, known to his family and friends as "Too Sweet" was born in Waukegan, IL to the late Obie, Sr. and Mattie (Thomas) Fishman, nee: Springs Glover

After graduating from North Chicago High, Lynell enlisted in the US Navy.  He worked for many years involving counseling.  His last position was at Hospitality Center where he advocated for the work helping those in need.

Lynell, was a spirited conversationalist and enjoyed reading. He was a talented chess and spades player, loved board, and card games, tore up the dance floor, stepping, could hold a tune and always had words of wisdom and sensibility, but most of all, he enjoyed being with family.

He will be greatly missed by his  children, Kyami (Jamie) Cronin, Syreeta Puryear, Jacinta (Allen) Johnson, Obie Glover lll, Obrianna Glover, and Solomon Glover; grandchildren, ShaCora Puryear, Jaylen Cronin,  DeShawn  Coleman, Jordan Cronin, KeyAntre Nunn, Jr., My'Azia Coleman, Syrenity Nunn, Parysh Crosby, Kamryn Cronin, Liam Puryear, Janiya and Autumn Johnson; sisters, Tracey Glover, Nicole Fishman, Thomasina (Marlon) Foster; dad, Thomas Fishman;  mother of his children, Carolyn Puryear Peet, he will further be missed by a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Lynell was preceded in death by daughter, Myeshieha Puryear, granddaughters, Tichina Puryear and Lyric Crosby, and brother, Darren Glover.

Family and friends are invited to meet at the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Saturday, June 18, 2022 for a visitation from 10-11 a.m.  A service celebrating his life and Homegoing will follow at 11:00 a.m. and conclude with Military Honors. A private interment will take place at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.
