Osie Jones was born in Bolivar, TN to the late James and Mable Puckett. She and her younger siblings, Joe, Regina and Katherine were very young when their mother died. Their father than married Fannie Bell Puckett and together they raised them to love God and to protect and love each other. Many years after Fannie Bell’s death, their father wed Rosie Puckett.
Osie and her family moved to Racine, WI in 1966. She obeyed the gospel on December 8, 1967 and faithfully served the Lord for 50+ years at Midtown Church of Christ, bringing many souls to Christ. One of her greatest joy was working with the Members Keeper Program at Midtown. She remained faithful to the Lord until the end. Osie worked at General Converters & Assemblers (GCA) for 25 year and Modine Manufacturing Company for 10 years until health started failing her. Osie loved working puzzles, making greeting cards, playing games on the computer, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Patricia McKenney of Racine, WI, William (Brenda) Jones of Rochester, NY and Ricky (Becky) Jones of Caledonia, WI; as well as her grandchildren, Christopher, Christina, Christian and Nathanial Jones (Bonus Grandson). Others who mourn her absence are her siblings– Lue Vinnia Dunlap, Sandra (Walter) Cleaves, Patricia (Michael) Harris, Bobby (Mona) Reid, Jenice Blayde and Travaris Puckett, brother-in-law Howard Puryear—A host of treasured nieces and nephews, particularly Selma McGregor and Angela Bush (Those Girls)- A trusted friend until the end, Freddie King and many cousins, “adopted” children, church family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings (Joe Lewis Puckett, Regina Taylor, Kathrine Puryear, Angram Lee, Uffer Lee Puckett, James Puckett, Jr., Sadie Harris, Virginia Reid and Michael Reid.

I shall never forget the trip we took with the youth of Reynolds Street to one of our National Youth Conferences. We stopped in Racine Wisconsin to visit with Brother Jones Mother. She allowed us to lay around all over her house the rest of the day and night. We were fed by her and her wonderful church members. The next day we went to worship with her and Brother Jones preached for the congregation. I assume it was the Sermon he had practiced on all the way as he drove that bus full of teenagers. I never said a word, but I heard him mumbling to himself and when he spoke that Sunday I then knew what he was doing. I remember his MOM as a sweet talkative person who loved and gave her all. I truly hope your memories of Mrs Jones will carry on in your life as does Mine.

I am sadden beyond words to learn that another wonderful and kind Church member have left us. We have almost lost the entire generation that help raise us, loved us and taught us in the little White church across the street. Sis Jones was always so encouraging and uplifting even when me and her niece Carolyn did not deserve it. I am sending heartfelt condolences to Pat and the rest of the family. May your love and fond memories strengthen, guide and comfort all of you. She is gone, but never forgotten. RIP Sis. Jones
